Martens Wood Waste Solutions has a clear mission. It is committed to adding value to wood residues and wood waste. In the form of wood shavings and agro-fibre as ground cover for stables and riding schools. And in the form of wood pellets as a green energy fuel for stoves and bio heat installations.

How it all began

The start of Martens Wood Waste Solutions, more than 50 years ago, signifies the character of the company today. See opportunities and do not hesitate to seize those same opportunities. For example, the small-scale trade in wood shavings grew into a modern production company at multiple locations to manufacture wood shavings, wood fibres and wood pellets for trading partners throughout Europe.

Manufacture of wood waste and wood residues

At the production locations in Someren, Venray and Wielsbeke in Belgium, wood residues and class 1 wood waste is processed into high-quality wood shavings, agro-fibres and wood pellets. The wood shavings and wood fibre are packed in bales and sold through intermediaries and riding schools

Pellet fuel

Wood pellets are made at the production locations in Venray and Wielbeke in Belgium. Heat is generated and used for drying agricultural products through our own Bioheat Installation. Residual electricity is also produced and supplied back to the public energy grid, which is good for 40,000 tonnes in Belgium and even 100,000 tons in the Netherlands!

Bio heat installations

Martens’ experience in generating heat and power by means of Bioheat Installations, Martens also uses through its subsidiary Renemar to offer an alternative to gas-free construction in new residential areas and as a green energy supplier for Agri and Industry.

Some facts and figures

Martens distributes its wood shavings, sawdust and wood pellets through its own fleet of more than 35 truck combinations throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Europe. Martens has about fifty employees. More than 140,000 tonnes of wood pellets are produced annually. There are two Martens Bioheat Installations that generate heat and electricity.
